You won't find cakes that look pretty but taste bland or dry here. Everything we create is carefully designed and flavoured to suit your preferences, and handmade from scratch using top-quality ingredients.

We appreciate the classic flavours, but also love unusual combinations, so tell us your favourites! We will happily create new recipes to help incorporate them into your cake. Some of our cake and filling flavour favourites include:

… Salted caramel, espresso, peanut butter, wagon wheel, tiramisu, vanilla bean, poppyseed, honey, lemon, lavender, Turkish delight, rose, matcha, black sesame, earl grey, lychee, peach, coconut, raspberry, blackberry, passionfruit, mango, strawberry, rhubarb, blueberry, super-dark chocolate, chocolate & orange, chocolate and ginger, peppermint, cinnamon, sticky date, cookies & cream, red velvet, Guinness, bourbon, whisky, rum... and many, many more.

Some of these work best as cake flavours, some as filling flavours, some as both! We're happy to share our expertise on flavour pairings to ensure you get the best possible result.

We understand that cakes usually also include ingredients that some people can't eat due to allergies or other concerns. We want these people to be able to eat delicious cake too (not just "delicious for a [insert allergen]-free cake" but actually delicious), so we have developed and continue to develop recipes for cakes free from gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, and/or nuts, to cater for these people. Hurrah! However, please note that these cakes will be prepared in the same kitchen with the same equipment as all our other products, so we cannot guarantee the absence of trace elements.

Cakes

A special event deserves a special cake! Talk to us about single or multi-tiered,  big or small, rustic, modern, and novelty options. Decorations include handmade sugar flowers, fresh flowers, modelled fondant, edible paint, silver/gold leaf, paper, buttercream piping, ganache or salted caramel drip features, stencilling, cookies, chocolates, or whatever else your imagination dictates. Have a look at our gallery or Instagram, or bring us your own design inspiration or Pinterest boards.

Cakes are presented as either:

  • Naked: No icing or covering on the the cake, leaving the filling between each layer visible from the outside. Naked cakes are often decorated with powdered sugar and fresh flowers or fruit, and are a refreshingly rustic look that is perfect for a relaxed wedding or celebration. Click here for our naked cake gallery.

  • Seminaked: Similar to a naked cake, but with a layer of buttercream around the outside of the cake giving it straight edges and sharp corners, scraped back thin so that the cake is visible through the icing. Able to be coloured and often decorated with fresh flowers, fruit, and other goodies, this is our most popular style. Click here for our seminaked cake gallery.

  • Buttercream: Iced in full-coverage buttercream, which can be smooth, rustic, textured or patterned, applied with a spatula or piped on, and can be flavoured and tinted to your chosen colour/s. Note: buttercream is delicious, but butter does melt! If you would like this look for a large cake that needs to withstand prolonged hot temperatures (e.g. several hours of display at an outdoor wedding) we can recreate many of these buttercream styles by covering the cake with ganache and then royal icing. Click here for our buttercream cake gallery.

  • Fondant: Covered in smooth ganache with sharp edges, and then encased in a thin layer of fondant. Fondant is extremely versatile: it can be coloured, painted, embossed, piped, tiled, marbled (and more), making it perfect for complex and elegant designs. It has a bad reputation for tasting awful and being left on the plate, but modern recipes make fondant that is sweetly flavoured and can be rolled very thin, making it much more palatable. In addition, as it completely seals the cake, it enables the cake to be safely stored at cool room temperature for several days and can withstand prolonged periods of display at weddings and events, making it the best choice for outdoor or summer weddings. Click here for our fondant cake gallery.

We believe the height of a cake adds to the festivities. Our standard tiers are comprised of four layers of cake with the finished tier measuring 5-6inches tall. The layers are generally filled with silky smooth Swiss meringue buttercream, homemade jams or curds, and other delicious things depending on your chosen flavour profile and any climate considerations. Buttercreams and ganaches can be used on their own or flavoured with fresh fruit or preserves, freeze-dried fruit powders, citrus zest, crushed nuts or cookies, nut butters, tea leaves, coffee, natural flavouring oils and extracts, and many other fun things.

Cupcakes

Bite-sized fun to share without the fuss of slicing and plating, in standard or mini size. Cupcakes are usually piped with buttercream into roses, swirls, peaks, spikes, kisses, or other shapes, but can also be spread with a thin layer of buttercream and covered with a round of decorated fondant. They can be topped with additional decorations including edible confetti or glitter, sugar pearls, crushed cookies or nuts, fruit, cacao nibs, fairy floss, cookies, chocolates or chopped chocolate bars, and many others.

In addition to their frosting, cupcakes can have a secret filling on the inside - options include ganache, jam, lemon curd, salted caramel, chocolate sauce, and more. Click here to view our small things gallery (also includes cookies, macarons, and other small sweets!).

Cookies

We love cookies! Decorated cookies make a wonderful addition to an afternoon tea or bridal shower, gift, or wedding/party favour, particularly when they are personalised to match the event or recipient (or the cake!). Our sugar cookies can be cut to any shape and beautifully decorated with royal icing or fondant, piped or painted, in any colour. They will keep for a few months in an airtight container if required.

We also make gorgeous macarons, as well as delicious rustic cookies including chewy chocolate fudge, chocolate chip, peanut butter, or matcha cookies, amaretti, and almond or coconut jam drops. Click here to view our small things gallery (also includes cupcakes, macarons, and other small sweets!).

Lactation cookies

In addition to our custom cake offerings, we also make healthy lactation cookies for busy mamas. Rachel started making them for herself just before having her first baby, because she was disappointed with the quality and ingredients in the lactation cookies also on the market. She tweaked and tested for months before settling on the perfect balance of healthy and delicious: fibre-packed, hearty cookies that are low GI, contain no additives and minimal refined sugar, that will boost milk supply and keep a hungry mama going around the clock in those breastfeeding days (and beyond), and boost her mood with delicious couverture dark chocolate. Rather than keep them to herself, she decided to share them with everyone, so you can get some for yourself or the new mama in your life here in our online shop. Pick up in Hamilton Hill, WA or have them posted to you Australia-wide.
